The current Club is not the first to bear the name of Aberystwyth Cricket Club. The first Club was formed in 1830 and there have been several incarnations since, but the Club in 2006 is different from its predecessors in respect - it is the proud owner of its own ground. The Committee and members are very proud of the facilities gradually being upgraded on their ground at The Geufron, in the Rheidol valley east of Aberystwyth. Since the former England and Glamorgan stalwart, Peter Walker, performed the opening ceremony in 1997, the Club has expanded its facilities and activities.
A fine 4-bay net practice area was added in 2002, enabling the club to develop further its junior sections. There are three senior teams at weekends, besides teams at U11, U13 and U15. The Committee is aiming to increase membership though a generous family membership scheme.
